Working remotely from Nosara by Nathan Dappen

I had to edit a film. Amanda had to study for her Medical Board Exam. Why do it in New Jersey when we could do it on Costa Rica? We came to Guiones and got our work on.

Oldies but goodies from Formentera by Nathan Dappen

While looking for the raw originals of finalist images for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, I found these old photos from a rare foggy summer morning in Formentera from 2010. As soon as the sun arrived, it burned off the myst and left dew covering everything.

Humbled in the Jungle Episode 1: FIRE by Nathan Dappen

Starting a fire in the jungle, in the rain, using only sticks? Instructed by locals, Neil Losin and I got to try just that in a remote part of the Solomon Islands. At least one of us succeeds!

Portrait of Dr. Jared Diamond by Nathan Dappen

JD.jpg

Pulitzer Prize Winner, MacArthur Genius, recipient of the National Medal of Science, professor of geography, evolutionary biology, physiology and anthropology, and speaker of 12 languages - there are few men like Dr. Jared Diamond. I took this photo after a fascinating interview with Dr. Diamond for Neil's and my upcoming film about speciation.
